The GPSR ensures that products placed on the market are safe for use. This document outlines our compliance with the GPSR as a business primarily offering repair services and exchange units.

Scope of Services

We specialise in:

1. Repair Services: Customers send their parts to us for repair, and we return the repaired item to them.

2. Exchange Services: Customers receive a reconditioned unit from us along with a return label to send their old unit back to us. These exchange units are remanufactured and clearly marked as such.

Our customers include:

• Individuals seeking repair or exchange services for their personal vehicles.

• Garages and Intermediaries acting on behalf of their customers to facilitate the repair or exchange of parts.

Repair Services

1. Nature of the Service:

   • Our repair services involve repairing and restoring customer-provided units. These units are not resold to other customers and are returned directly to the original sender.

   • This service does not involve placing new products on the market; therefore, it falls outside the scope of the GPSR.

2. Customer Responsibilities:

   • Customers must ensure that the parts sent for repair are packaged safely to prevent damage during transit.

   • Upon receiving the repaired unit, customers are responsible for ensuring its proper installation and use.

3. Our Commitment:

   • All repaired units are tested to ensure they meet safety and functionality standards before being returned to the customer.

Exchange Services

1. Nature of the Service:

   • Our exchange services involve supplying reconditioned units to customers in exchange for their old units. The reconditioned units are clearly marked as remanufactured and comply with applicable safety standards.

   • These products are excluded from the GPSR under the provision for repaired or reconditioned goods.

2. Process:

   • Customers receive a reconditioned unit along with a return label to send their old unit back to us.

   • The returned unit must match the original specifications and condition agreed upon during the transaction.

3. Exclusions from GPSR:

   • Reconditioned products provided through our exchange service are excluded from the GPSR, as they are clearly marked as such and intended for repair and reuse.

4. Our Commitment:

   • Each reconditioned unit undergoes rigorous testing to ensure it meets or exceeds safety and performance standards.

EU Responsible Person

As a UK-based business, Essex Recons acts as the manufacturer for the purposes of reconditioned units. Our services are excluded from the GPSR requirements for an EU Responsible Person as the units are repaired or reconditioned products clearly marked as such.

Customer Acknowledgement

By engaging with our services, customers acknowledge and agree that:

1. Repair services are excluded from GPSR requirements as they involve repairing pre-owned parts.

2. Exchange units are reconditioned and excluded from GPSR as they are clearly marked as repaired or reconditioned goods.

3. Proper installation of repaired or exchanged units is the responsibility of the customer.
